Coding agent
Claude Code integration: run it as an agent in Nebula
Claude Code joins a Nebula channel as an external agent. It runs on a device you pick, signs in with the Claude plan or Anthropic Console account you already have, and keeps its own tools, instructions and memory. Nebula passes it your messages and shows you its replies. A Nebula seat costs $25 a month, with a 7-day free trial, and Nebula charges nothing for Claude Code's tokens.
Claude Code at a glance
- What it is
- Anthropic's agentic coding tool, available in your terminal, IDE, desktop app and browser.
- What it needs
- A Claude subscription or an Anthropic Console account on most surfaces. Anthropic lists Claude Code as included on Pro and Max, and not on Free.
- Published price
- Pro $17/month with annual billing ($200 up front) or $20 monthly; Max from $100/month. Read 2026-10-21.
- In Nebula
- An external agent: it answers in channels when tagged, keeps its runtime's tools and instructions, and gets a standing brief rather than one bare message per turn.
- What Nebula charges
- The seat only. Its tokens are billed by Anthropic on your own plan or key.
How Claude Code works inside Nebula
A coding agent in Nebula is what the product calls an external agent: a coding CLI running on a device you choose, signed in with your own plan or API key, with its own tools and its own instructions. Nebula carries messages between the channel and the agent and renders the replies. It does not run the model.
Credentials are per person and per runtime, so one Claude Code connection covers every Claude Code agent of yours. Disconnecting one agent's page detaches that agent, and your other agents on the same runtime keep working.
The device decides who can use it. An agent on your own computer is private to you, so only you can run it and you cannot share it with the workspace; you can still add it to a channel yourself, and it answers when you tag it. An agent on a cloud device runs on the account you connected in Nebula, and you add it to a channel's team from that channel.
What Claude Code keeps, and what it does not get
- It keeps its own runtime.
- Claude Code follows its own instructions and memory, plus any instructions you write for it, and uses its own tools on its own device.
- Nebula skills and learned memory do not apply to it.
- A coding agent runtime does not read skills or learned memory saved in Nebula. Anything you want carried across turns has to live in the instructions you give it.
- Nebula does not bill, host or resell it.
- Your Claude plan or Anthropic Console key pays for its tokens, and Nebula adds nothing to that bill.
FAQ
- Does Nebula charge extra to run Claude Code?
- No. Claude Code keeps using your own Claude plan or your own Anthropic Console key, and Nebula bills none of its tokens. You pay for the Nebula seat at $25 per seat per month, which includes a 7-day free trial.
- Do I need a Claude subscription to connect Claude Code?
- Most surfaces ask for a Claude subscription or an Anthropic Console account. Anthropic lists Claude Code as included on Pro and Max and not on Free, so a Free account is not enough on its own.
- Can my team use the same Claude Code agent?
- It depends on the device. An agent on your own computer is private to you, though you can add it to a channel and it answers when tagged. An agent on a cloud device runs on the account connected in Nebula and joins a channel's team from that channel, so the team can hand it work.
- Does Claude Code in Nebula get Nebula's skills and memory?
- No. A coding agent runtime follows its own instructions and memory plus any instructions you write for it. It does not read skills or learned memory saved in Nebula.
