Nebula vs Lindy: one AI employee in Slack vs a workspace of agents
Lindy is one AI employee your team shares through Slack, billed in credits. Nebula is a workspace where many agents, yours included, work in your channels.
Lindy sells one AI employee that plugs into your tools, lives in your Slack, and is shared by the whole team on a pool of credits [S1][S2]. Nebula is a workspace where people and many agents work in the same channels: Nebula’s own agents, coding agents like Claude Code and Codex on the plan you already pay for, and agents you build, each with a computer to work on [S8][S9]. Both take real work off your plate. The difference is whether you want one assistant inside the chat tool you have, or a place where a team of agents works next to you.
The short version
Lindy’s own words: “Lindy is the AI employee that plugs into your tools, learns how you work, and takes real work off your plate” (lindy.ai, read 2026-10-31). “Your whole team shares one Lindy”, installed in Slack by an admin, and asked in a channel it “responds in thread” [S1].
Nebula’s workspace is the room itself: channels, calls, tasks and files that a team and its agents share. A request becomes a task in a thread, and the agent reports back in its own name [S8][S9].
If your team lives in Slack and wants one capable assistant there, with approvals in the thread and a bill measured in credits, Lindy is a direct fit and Nebula doesn’t need to replace it. If you want several agents with different jobs, coding agents your engineers already pay for, and a computer each agent can work on, that’s the problem Nebula is built for.
The comparison
Everything about Lindy below was read from lindy.ai and docs.lindy.ai on 31 October 2026 and will move. Prices are USD.
| Axis | Lindy | Nebula |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | “The AI employee that plugs into your tools”, one assistant your whole team shares [S1] | A team workspace where agents are members of your channels, with their own identity, tools and computers [S8] |
| Where you talk to it | Slack (channels, threads and DMs), plus a web app, iMessage and SMS [S1][S5] | Nebula’s own channels, DMs and calls, on desktop and phone [S8]. It can also work in your Slack channels |
| How many agents | One Lindy per workspace [S1] | As many as you create: Nebula’s agents, coding agents and agents you build, each on a channel’s team [S9] |
| Published price | Free $0 with $50 in credits for 7 days; Team from $29.99 per active user/month with 3,000 credits each, pooled across the team, with larger credit tiers up to $9,999.50; top-ups $10 per 1,000 credits; Enterprise custom [S2] | $25 per seat/month, 7-day free trial; messaging, calls and research included; Nebula’s own agents draw on Nebula Credits, and Nebula asks before it overspends [S8] |
| Bring the AI you already pay for | Not described. You choose a model per task, billed in Lindy credits [S2][S6] | Yes: connect Claude, ChatGPT or another agent you run, “and Nebula charges nothing extra for it” [S8] |
| Coding agents | Not described | Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and others, run on your own plan or API key [S9] |
| A computer to work on | A browser it can drive when a tool has no integration, on Pro and up. Lindy’s pages don’t say where that browser runs [S1][S2] | A cloud device: a subscribed workspace starts with one, and more draw on Nebula Credits. Or your own computer, with computer use on [S10] |
| Integrations | “1,500+ integrations + MCP”; it can also write its own integration against a tool’s API [S1][S5] | Gmail, Slack, GitHub, Notion and “thousands of other apps”, each connection yours [S8] |
| Approvals | Per tool: Always allow, Require approval (asks in Slack before writing), or Don’t offer. “Reads are never guarded”, and guardrails apply in shared Slack threads only [S5] | Approval cards in the task; per-device choices for computer control [S10] |
| Scheduled work | Routines on a schedule or an event (an email, a Slack message, a meeting ending) [S6] | Scheduled jobs and Autonomous channels that check in on their own [S9] |
| Memory | Plain files you can browse and edit, personal or shared with the workspace [S1][S7] | Workspace memory and skills that Nebula’s agents read [S9] |
| Compliance | SOC 2 Type II; HIPAA with a signed BAA on Enterprise [S3][S4] | See nebula.gg for current terms |
Where Lindy is the better pick
- Your team already lives in Slack and doesn’t want another app. Lindy is designed to be installed there and answer in thread [S1].
- You want one generalist assistant, not a roster. One shared Lindy with one memory is simpler to manage than several agents [S1][S7].
- You need a signed BAA today. Lindy offers HIPAA with a signed BAA on Enterprise [S4].
- Phone and text. Lindy works over iMessage and SMS, and its changelog added phone calls on 14 October 2026 [S5][S3].
Where Nebula is the better pick
- Your engineers already pay for Claude Code or Codex. Nebula runs them in the team’s channels on that plan, without billing their tokens [S9].
- The work needs a real computer. Each agent can work on a cloud device, with a terminal you can step into, or on your own machine when the work needs something only it has [S10].
- You want several agents with different jobs. Nebula routes work between agents in a channel, and agents can hand work to each other [S9].
- You’d rather pay per seat than meter every task. A Nebula seat plus an agent you connect is a complete setup; credits only matter for Nebula’s own agents [S8].
What it costs a five-person team
On Lindy’s Team plan, five active users start at 5 × $29.99 = $149.95 a month, which includes 15,000 credits pooled across the team. Lindy’s credits cost $0.01 each on base plans, so heavier use means a bigger tier or $10 top-ups [S2][S6].
On Nebula, five seats are 5 × $25 = $125 a month. Coding agents and Claude or ChatGPT subscriptions you connect cost nothing extra in Nebula; tasks for Nebula’s own agents, and the tools and computer hours they use, draw on Nebula Credits [S8]. What AI costs a small team walks through that in more detail.
Common questions
Is Nebula a Lindy alternative? For teams that want more than one assistant, yes. Lindy is one AI employee shared through Slack; Nebula is a workspace where many agents, including coding agents you already pay for, work in your channels.
Does Lindy support multiple agents? Lindy’s pages describe one Lindy per workspace that the whole team shares [S1].
Can I use my own Claude or ChatGPT subscription? In Nebula, yes, at no extra charge [S8]. Lindy’s pages describe choosing a model per task, paid in Lindy credits, and don’t mention bringing your own subscription [S2][S6].
Does either one work in Slack? Both. Lindy is built around Slack [S1]. Nebula agents can work in your Slack channels too, while Nebula’s own channels hold the tasks and calls.
